I am a qualified teacher with over 13 years’ experience. I have taught from EYFS up to year 8 in a range of settings including nurseries and schools in Costa Rica, Finland and the UK.

I have a passion for high quality early years provision and from my experiences in Finland have a love for learning in nature and the outdoors.

I have two children of my own who are my Finca inspiration. Watching my children grow, develop and learn through their early years on our farm has been a privilege and a joy that I now want to share with others. My little girl also attended an incredible TLC setting and seeing the difference, as a parent, this high-quality provision made to her development and well being was the final motivation I needed to set up Finca TLC.

I believe in a nurturing and child-initiated approach to education. I take inspiration from both Montessori and Steiner philosophies for teaching, creating a child - led holistic approach to learning, taking account of the needs of the whole child. Children are naturally eager for knowledge and our role as teachers at Finca is to guide and support them in their own personal journey.

I have been working in primary education as a qualified teacher for 10 years. I enjoy working alongside children in my care, supporting and scaffolding their interests and curiosities and teaching them about the world around us. My passion lies in outdoor learning, developing children’s sense of wonder and excitement that is generated when engaged with the environment.

I have 10 years experience working with children. I just love how everyday is different! I have worked as a 1:1 SEN TA in schools, in nursery’s supporting children of different ages and even worked as a nanny in Australia during some time travelling. I have a passion for the great outdoors and love to get outside with the children. I enjoy setting up a range of different learning opportunities, particularly playdoh and messy play!

Qualified Nursery Nurse

I moved down to the South in 2013 to settle down after travelling around Thailand for 5 months. Me and my husband found an organisation who set up volunteer teaching which was an incredible experience.

I qualified as a nursery nurse in 1997 and worked at a private day nursery. My passion has always been childcare. I have a 6 year old daughter and for the past 2 years I have been working alongside a childminder in a home based setting. I am delighted to now also have 1 day a week at Finca where I get to explore the great outdoors with all the children.
